Temperature distribution,deformation and residual stresses of thick plate butt multipass welding

  • Temperature distribution,deformation and residual stresses of thick plate butt multipass welding were researched through a comparison among normal welding,vibratory welding and welding with wind cooling.The results showed that compared with normal welding,vibratory welding made the residual stresses and welding transverse contraction deformation decrease.Wind cooling accelerated elimination of heat dissipation,and controlled temperature which made welding transverse contraction deformation and the residual stresses decrease.At the same time,data of welding transverse contraction deformation offered reference for machining of welding structure.
