Abstract
A new high quality and low consumption type of non-melting welding method was put forward, and a high frequency hybrid T-TIG power supply was developed, which could output two type current waveforms simultaneously. One was high frequency square current waveform with base current of 0~300 A, peak current of 0~100 A, frequency of 0~80 kHz, duty ratio of 0~100%, current rate of change up to 50 A/μs. The other was variable polarity square wave pulse current waveform with output current amplitude of 0~500 A, frequency of 0~100 Hz, duty ratio of 0~100%, current rate of change up to 300 A/ms. The test results of the power source indicated that the design of high frequency hybrid T-TIG power source has reached the anticipated design object, and the high frequency square current still has a rapid rising and falling edge change rate at the frequency of 80 kHz. At last, the welding test was carried out by using aluminum alloy plate, and the test results shown that the welding process was stable and the weld molding was good.
