  • In this study,by means of three types of welded wide plate tests,a simulation investigation was made on the chracteristics of the initiation of brittle fracture of weldment in the stress concentration region of tubular joints in offshore structures. The brittle fracture transition temperature and the flaw tolerance of the weldment of two kinds of offshore structure steel (A131 & A537) were obtained.
