Abstract
Cf/SiC composite was successfully joined to Ti alloy with (Ti-Zr-Cu-Ni)+W composite filler material with the proper parameters. The interfacial microstructures of the brazed joints were investigated by SEM,EDS and XRD.The mechanical properties of the brazed joints were tested by mechanical properties test. The results showed that Ti and Zr elements in the filler material can make a reaction with the Cf/SiC composite during the brazing process.A mixture of Ti3SiC2,Ti5Si3 and a small amount of TiC(ZrC) compounds finally form adjacent to the Cf/SiC composite.Ti alloy constantly dissolves and Cu,Ni elements diffuse into the Ti alloy, and then form the diffusion reaction layers between interlayer and Ti alloy. The addition of reinforced phase W particles is markedly beneficial on relaxing the thermal stress and improving the strength of the joints. The maximum shear strength of the brazed joints is 166 MPa.
