Abstract
The hardfacing alloy of martensitic stainless steel added nitrogen as alloying element was made, and the microstructure and high-temperature wear-resistance was also studied. It is found that the hardfacing alloy has two main phases of martensite and carbonitrides. The high-temperature wear mechanism between hardfacing alloy of the martensitic stainless steels and the low-carbon steel was abrasive wear because the effect of oxide formation on the surface of the low-carbon steel. The oxide was sticking on the surface of hardfacing alloys and increasing the abrasive wear damage. The results showed that carbonitride particles distributed homogeneously in the hardfacing alloy and had a good strengthening effect on the hardness and high-temperature wear resistance.
