Development of large thickness copper-stainless steel plate for nuclear fusion based on explosive welding technology

Abstract
Large thickness copper-stainless steel clad plate is an important part for nuclear fusion reactor. In addition to the technical requirements of composite ratio, tensile strength, shear strength and interfacial wave shape are far higher than those of conventional clad plate. Many experiments are required to meet the technical requirements by conventional methods. To solve the technical problem and ensure the quality of explosive welding, the optimal process parameters and welding window can be determined based on the theory calculation. Results of the development of large thickness copper stainless steel clad plates with explosive welding showed that the combinations of theoretical analysis, numerical calculation and experiments could be acted as a standardized technical method for the production of explosive welding.
