Abstract
Vacuum hot roll bonding was used to join TC4 titanium alloy to 304 stainless steel successfully. The test result showed that the hole appearson the interface at the bonding temperature of 800℃.Three layers of intermetallic compounds formon the interface at the bonding temperature of 850℃, and the hardness of Cr-riched layer is about twice higher as that of titanium alloy. The formation of cracks in bonding interface at the bonding temperature of 900℃. The highest tensile strength of 77.33 MPa is obtained at the bonding temperature of 850℃. The fracture is brittle mode, γFe、Cr、Fe2Ti、σ and Cr2Ti are found at stainless steel side.
