Abstract
Two typical nickel based materials DD6 and FGH96 which usually were used on the turbine disk were selected on weldability by linear friction welding. Microstructure and mechanical property of joint were also investigated. Results showed that the weld zone of FGH96 had a obvious deforming zone but it was different to DD6, γ' phase in the two materials were both liquated, and the size also changed. Tensile test showed all the joint fractured at the DD6 base metal and that tensile strength of the joint were equivalent to that of the DD6 base metal.
