Abstract
After spot welding residual stress was superimposed by working load, the internal stress will redistribute. This work selected B1500HS ultra high strength steel sheet and prepared welded components. The residual stress near the surface of nugget zone, the heat affected zone and base metal was measured by X-ray diffraction. Later, after tension and shear load was applied, the residual stress of the spot welding component was investigated from the aspect including electrode diameter, welding current. The results show that the current changes have an impact on the specimen in terms of welding residual stresses. The electrode diameter increases so that the residual stress increases inside the weld nugget zone. After applying shear load, residual stress has been released in the weld nugget and heat-affected zone. The zone away from the nuggest released less.
