Abstract
The novel aviation aluminum-lithium alloy 2060 was taken as the research object and the laser welding tests using optimized process parameters were carried out. Then the joint specimens were prepared and the tensile tests in different directions were performed. The tensile properties of welded joints on the longitudinal and circumferential directions were studied. The effect of laser power, welding speed and other process parameters on the tensile properties of the joints were analyzed. This study showed that aluminum-lithium alloy 2060 presented better adaptability for the laser welding process, but further study on the softening of the joint, the regulation of tensile properties, is needed in the future.
