Abstract
In order to improve characteristics of high-temperature erosion-resistance for high chromium cast steel burner nozzle, laser cladding was carried out on the surface of high chromium cast steel to produce NiAl intermetallic compound coating, and the microstructure and high-temperature erosion properties of the resultant coating were studied with electron probe microanalysis(EPMA) and high-temperature erosion-resistance equipments. The results show that the coating continuously and densely distributed and metallurgically bonded with the steel substrate. The coating was composed of NiAl intermetallic compound and γ-(FeNi) solid solution. The hardness of the cladding layer reached 450 HV, and the hardness transition was smooth. The high-temperature erosion-resistance of laser cladding NiAl intermetallic compound coating was obviously improved, and the erosion worn mechanism was brittle spalling.
