Mathematical model and simulation for cutting of pipe tee with root face groove

Aimed at the groove cutting during the pipe tee manufacturing,this paper compared bevel groove with root face groove,and presented the advantages of root face groove cutting for pipe tee.The principle of root face groove cutting for branch pipe and main pipe was demonstrated,and then the root face groove cutting model was established,based on the bevel groove cutting model.After simulation with AutoCAD VBA programming tools,the models were verified to be reliable and practical.This paper provides a new approach to improve the welding quality and enhance the manufacturing efficiency of pipe tee.
