Abstract
Amorphous Fe-(Cr,Ni)-(C,B) coatings were prepared on low carbon steel by arc spraying technology. The phase composition, microstructure, properties of thermal stability and behavior of frictional wear were studied and analyzed by Xray diffraction instrument(XRD),scanning electronic microscope(SEM),differential thermal analyzer and MRH-3 friction wear testing machine, respectively. The results showed that the coating had a high content of amorphous phase, layered distribution and a dense and uniform structure. The crystallization process in the coating would not occur at the temperature below 500℃.The coating possessed high hardness and excellent friction and wear properties, with the average hardness of 1 155 HV0.1.At the same experimental conditions, the relative wear-resistance property of the coating was 13.3 times of the one of Q235 steel, the wear mechanism was mainly dominated by fatigue wear.
