Arc characteristics and welding pool morphology of Nd:YAG laser+CMT arc hybrid welding

  • In this paper,arc characteristics and pool morphology of Nd:YAG laser+CMT arc hybrid welding on 304 stainless steel under different DLA space between light thread and laser power were observed by high speed video camera.Compared with CMT welding,the change mechanism of arc characteristics and pool morphology were analyzed.The results indicated that the coupling degree of arc and welding pool between YAG laser and CMT was related to spacing of light wire when the laser power and arc power were constant.When the light wire spacing DLA was 3 mm,the coupling degree was best.
