Microstructure and mechanical property of Ag-Cu-Ti fillers added with rare earth lanthanum

The effect of lanthanum(La) on the microstructure,microhardness of Ag-Cu-Ti filler applied in brazed CBN tools and the shear strength of brazed joint between Ag-Cu-Ti filler and 0.45%C steel substrate were researched.The results indicated that the addition of La could accelerate the alloying of filler alloy,improve the microhardness of Ag-Cu-Ti filler alloy and shear strength of brazed joint between Ag-Cu-Ti filler and 0.45%C steel substrate.The content of La added in Ag-Cu-Ti alloy filler should be less than 0.5 wt%.
