Development of wear resisting surfacing electrode with high efficiency, high hardness and low cost

  • A new type of wear-resisting surfacing electrode with high efficiency, high hardness and low cost was developed.A large number of iron powders, proper graphite, without any ore powders and little or without expensive components were added in electrode coating by sy stematically adjusting coating compositions and alloy constituents.This improved the combination properties of the electrode as well as reduced cost.Results show that the usability of the electrode are well.The melting efficiency, deposition efficiency and recovery factor of the electrode are up to 3 Kg h, 226.9% and 80%, respectively.The hardness of single layer deposited metal reaches 67 HRC, the wear resistance is 1.52 times of a commercial high chromium casting iron electrode and the crack resistance is better at the same time.
