Effect of alloy elements and heat treatment technology on microstructure and property of hardfacingmetal for cold scissors

  • The microstructure of hardfacing metal was observed and its property was measured by transformation recordingmeasuring instrument, optical-micrograph, X-ray diffractometer, Xray stress analyzer and hardness instrument, The results show that the hardness of hardfacing metals are increased with the increasing of carbon content.The tempering resistance of covered electrodes can be improved by adding Mo in the coating.After the specimen was tempered at 550℃ for two times, in the retained austenite with hardfacing metals content of Mo is 1.1%, and the hardness is the highest(58.6 HRC).
