Distribution and control of residual stresses in FSW joints

Abstract
Deformation of FSW stractures welded with different parameters and tools was measured and analyzed in this paper. Results showed that smaller tool shoulder and lower welding energy would reduce the deformation. With optimized welding parameters, dynamic control of welding deformation(DC-LSND) which was usually used in TIG was introduced to FSW, and its effects on structure deformation and residual stresse were also studied.
