Abstract
The effect of activating fluxes with single component TiO2 on weld form in tungsten inert-gas (TIG) welding of magnesium alloy is studied. The experimental results show that the penetration is more than 2 times compared to the conventional TIG welding.Compared with weld made without flux the penetration increases, and the width decreases. The flux developed has no effect on the microstructure.
