Effect of H2S on sulfide stress cracking of base metals and weldedjoints of domestic X70 pipeline steels

  • Slow strain rate test was adopted to study the sulfidestress cracking (SSC) resistance of domestic X70 steels and welded joints,and the influence of H2S content and welding technique on SSC was discussed.The results reveal that with increasing of H2S,the SSCresistance decrease,and at the same condition,the SSC resistance for welded joints are lower than that of base metal.The effect of H2S on SSC of domestic X70 pipeline steels and welded joisnts is very important.
