Laser tungsten inert-gas arc hybrid welding process on wrought magnesium ahoy AZ31B

  • The technical characteristics of laser tungsten inert-gasarc (TIG) hybrid welding process were investigated,and at the same time the effect of parameters on the weld metal geometries was analyzed.The results show that the present of laser beam improved the stability and augmented the penetration of weld;and the welt of magnesium alloy can he obtained without porosity and crack and the good tensile strength corresponding to based metal.It was proved that laser-TIG hybrid welding is a ideal new welding process for magnesium.
