Abstract
Effects of surface conditions cleaned with different methods on the spot welded joint of AZ31B were studied for magnesium alloy is easy to be oxidized.The results show that the tensile shear loads of the joints cleaned by 0.1 x l0-3 H2SO4 for 5 min and grinded mechanically are high and stable.Spatter and electrode sticking are initiated if the surfaces are covered with oxidations film,and cracks in the nugget will occurbecause of impurity.
