Interfacial microstructure of Al2O3-based ceramic composite/steel joint by brazing in air

  • The Al2O3-based ceramic composite/steel joint by brazing in air was investigated.The inter facial micro structure,chemical composition and inter facial reaction were studied by scanning electron micrograph (SEM),energy spectrum analysis (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD).The results indicate that Al2O3-based ceramic composite/steel could be directly brazed in air.The joint of Al2O3-based ceramic composite/steel resulted from element diffusion and inter facial reaction.The new reactive phase in interface was FeWO4.
