Transient liquid phase bonding of aluminium-based metal matrix composite with Al-Cu alloy interlayer

Abstract
The microstructure and mechanical properties of transient liquid phase bonded alnminium-based metal matrix composite (Al2O3P/6061Al) joint with Al-Cu alloy interlayer have been investigated.The experimental results show that compared with the joint of Cu interlayer there are not obvious particulate segregation region and denuded particulate region.Cu concentration distribution is more homogeneous,and the shear strength of the joint increases 45%.It is effective to use Al-Cu alloy inter-layer for improving the mechanical property of transient liquid phase bonded aluminium-based metal matrix composite joint.
