Arc-added Glow Discharge Titanizing of Ceramics and Glow Discharge Brazing of Titanized Ceramic to Metal

  • A new brazing technique of ceramic is presented,in which the arc-added glow discharge titanizing is applied to ceramic as a preparative process,then the ceramic is brazed to metal in glow discharge furnace without flux.It was indicated by test results that satisfactory joints could be obtained,provided the titanized layer thickness was sufficient and the brazing variables were suitable.The method has advantages in high productivity,low cost,wide accommodation for material system,dispensing with special reactive filler metal and processing in a comparatively low vacuum.
