Abstract
In this investigation, copper-steel joints are welded by CO2 welding with steel electrode. No heat crack is found in welded joints whose tensile strength σb attains 200 MPa, and the plastic fracture is demonstrated by SEM. The iron and copper contents sharply change near the junction. Less than 10% iron content zone is extremely narrow.
