Abstract
The present investigation has an initial study on the static and dynamic recrystallization of weld metal during friction welding of superalloy GH2132, by making the joint quickly cool down as soon as the break being applied to stop the rotation at different time of friction welding cycle. The quantitative relationship between the recrystallized grain size and the temperature as to as the strain rate is established by the regression analysis. The research results show that the process of friction welding is mainly a process of dynamic recrystallization, the recrystallization grain size has a close relationship with the Zener-Holloman parameter.
