Study on welding residual Stess of Stellite 31 alloy static vanes

The residual stresses in Stellite 31 alloy static vanes with electron beam welding were studied using the thermal elastic-plastic finite element method. And the effects of welding directions on the residual stress distribution were investigated.The results show that the welding direction and the assembling methodes affect the distribution of residual stress in the welded joints,the residual tensile stress is found near the biginning of the weldment and the residual compressive stress near the end of the weldment.
