Development of SCR power supply for arc welding

A new SCR power supply for arc welding is introduced in this paper.On the basis of analysing the reliability,technological and economic problems of the welding rectifier and studying many welding machines overseas,a perfect SCR controlled arc welding power supply is developed.The test results show that this power supply exhibits good dynamic and static characteristics and satisfactory welding behaviour,therefore it can perfectly fulfil the requirements for welding in various positions.
