Analysis of temperature field in welded parts of plastics

Through the analysis of the boundary conditions of the temperature field in plastics by heated tool butt-welding, some mathematical models were set up to simulate the temperature developments and to obtain the viscosity field in and near the welded zone. According to the German DVS Weld Standards and the conclusion in this works, plastics with different thermal and rheological properties can be well or even optimally welded.
