THE HYDROGEN ABSORBING ACTION OF RARE-EARTH ALLOYS IN STEEL WELD METAL
The interaction of rare-earth alloys and their oxides with diffusible hydrogen in steel weld metal was investigated. The resulis showed that rare-earth alloys can decrease the diffusible hydrogen content in weld metal. However, there are different critical values for the rare-earth alloys to be added to the coating of electrodes. Rate-earth alloys can bs used for developing ultra-low hydrogen electrodes.
