COMPUTATION OF TENSILE AND BENDING RESTRAINT INTENSITY OF WELDMENT TEST SPECIMENS

In this paper,a FEM for computation of the restraint intensity of a weldment is introduced and compared with the measurement method.By FEM the tensile restraint intensity and bending restraint intensity of different weld assemblies were computed.The significance of bending restraint intensity in estimating the restraint severity of welded assemblies was discussed.The author found this method practical and convenient.
