Abstract
In the article, the effects of alloy elements on susceptibility to hot cracking in the submerged arc welding of 12SiMoVNb hydrogen-resistant steel were studied with the transvarestraint test.It was found that Si,Nb,Ni and Mo increased the hot cracking susceptibility while Cr,V,W readuced it.On the basis of these test results, an excellent crack-resisting filler wire made of Cr-W alloy steel has been developed,so that the problems concerning hot cracking in submerged arc welding for 12SiMoVNb steel have been solved.
