Effect of current/voltage matching on stability of laser-arc hybrid welding process for aluminum alloy

  • By using HANNOVER arc analyzer and high-speed cameras, different arc voltage and welding current welding process were monitored on real-time,and the influence of different electrical parameters on the quality of welding were analyzed . And that the effect of the laser presence on the stability of waveform was verified. It is found that main and auxiliary “double conductive channel” disappeared, droplets transfer mode transition and welding splash and other uncertain factors leading to disorder and sharp angle of the waveforms of voltage and welding current. In the weld forming, as the arc voltage increases, the melt width increases first and then decreases, while the penetration depth is rising. When the current value increases, the penetration depth and width of the weld also increase. Because the arc voltage increases, the form of arc is changing. The arc force and energy are also changing the increase of current.
