Microstructures and properties of SiCW/2024Al MMCs joint by capacitor discharge welding

  • 摘要: 采用微型储能焊机对厚度为0.2 mm的SiCW/2024Al复合材料薄板进行了点焊连接研究.分析了接头组织和性能,理论计算了熔核的温度场及冷却速率.结果表明,焊接接头由熔核、热影响区和熔合区组成.熔核平均冷却速率高达5.25×106K/s,极短的焊接时间和极高的冷却速率,使熔核组织得以显著细化,并能有效抑制SiC-Al之间的界面反应;熔合区宽度约为10~15μm,勾勒出熔核与母材之间的分界线;热影响区组织未发生明显粗化,与原始母材保持良好的一致性.当焊接电压U=80 V,电容C=3300μF,电极力F=18 N时,可获得综合性能优良的高质量点焊接头.

     

    Abstract: The capacitor discharge spot welding on SiCW/2024Al alloy matrix composite sheet with 0.2 mm thickness was study.The microstructures and properties of the joint were analyzed,and the temperature field and cooling rate of nugget were calculated.The results show that the joint microstructure consists of nugget zone,heat-affected zone and semi-melt zone.The cooling rate of the joint reaches to 5.25×106 K/s.The microstructure of the nugget is obviously refined and the SiC-Al interfacial reaction is not found in the middle of the joint because of high cooling rate.The width of semi-melt zone is 10 to 15 μm,which divides the nugget zone and base metal.The microstructure of heat-affected zone is not obviously coarse and keeps conformation with base metal.To obtain the high quality spot-weld joint,the welding parameters are a welding voltage of 80 V,a capacitor of 3 300 μF and a electrode pressure of 18 N.
