New Electrofusion Welding Method for Polyethylene Pipe

  • 摘要: 提出了一种用于聚乙烯管道焊接的新技术,即采用炭毡/聚乙烯复合材料作为热源进行电熔焊接的方法,并对影响焊接强度的因素进行了系统分析,确定了相应的焊接工艺参数。研究结果表明,影响焊接强度的主要因素有输入功率、焊接界面温度和焊接时间,当焊接界面温度在140~220℃范围内时可以获得良好的焊接效果,而焊接时间对焊接强度的影响与输入功率有关。同时,焊接界面附近的材料显微组织会发生变化,熔融时间对焊接界面的断裂方式有显著的影响。与现行的电热丝焊接方法相比,本文提供的电熔焊接方法具有成本低、易于使用、通用性强等优点。

     

    Abstract: A new electrofusion welding method that adopted carbon fiber felt/polyethylene(PE) as a heat source was studied in this paper.On the basis of systematical analysis of the factors influenced the welding strength,the welding parameters were determined.The result shows that the dominating factors affected the welding performance are the input power,the temperature of weld interface and welding time.The ideal welding strength is obtained while the temperature of weld interface ranges from 140 to 220℃.And the effect of the weld time on strength is relative to the input power.The microstructure near the welding interface varies from polymer matrix.The fracture mode varies with molten time of welding interface.Compared with the current electrofusion weld,the method described in this paper possesses some advantages,such as low cost,easy to use and high generality etc.
