“Slag spatter” behavior of slag-free self-shielded flux cored wire

摘要: 利用自主研制的无渣自保护药芯焊丝进行焊接试验,并通过高速摄影技术观察其熔滴过渡行为. 试验发现了无渣自保护药芯焊丝在焊接过程中的“渣溅”行为,“渣溅”不仅发生在渣桥上,而且还发生在熔滴表面或熔池中. “渣溅”形成的原因是:熔渣与熔融金属高温下线膨胀系数相差大,熔渣本身的体积较小,以及熔滴在过渡过程中自身快速旋转所致. “渣溅”的发生成功解释了合金元素脱氧保护之后氧化产物的去向问题,它是导致焊后焊道表面没有熔渣的基本原因.Abstract: The droplet transfer of a self-made slag-free self-shielded flux cored wire was studied using high speed photography apparatus. The results showed that the slag spattered continually in the welding process, which can be named as “slag spatter”. The slag spatter occurred not only at the slag-bridge, but also on the surface of droplet, as well as its molten pool. It was discussed that the formation of slag spatter was caused by the great difference of coefficience of linear expansion between slag and droplet, the small volume of slag and the rapid rotation of droplet. The feature of slag spatter was successfully found in explaining where the oxidation products gone, which was also the root cause of weld bond without slag.
