Abstract: The common types, appearance, causes and detriment of the defects in resistance spot welded joints of spring steel are analysed in this paper.It presents that the sound spot welded joints can be produced through some techniques, such as increasing electrode force, adjusting welding current pulse and heat treating with random multiple tempering pulse. So it points out the way to replace the riveting of spring steel by welding.
