Abstract: In this paper the hardness and grit wearing tests were conducted for ten kinds of hardfacing electrods produced by the author. Two of them, one produces a harder but low wearability weld bead and another one does a softer but higher wearability bead, were researched using scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction analysis, and the effect of some elements and compounds on the wearability of electrods were found out.
