Abstract: The dynamic tear test is used for evaluation the resistance to fracture of metals widely.In this paper the new method for energy measurement of the vertical drop-weight machine is introduced.Meanwhile the dynamic toughness of A537 steel and CF60 steel including weld,HAZ have been evaluated with the cdynamic tear testing machine designed and the test results are discussed.
