Abstract: A series of specific techniques related to the application of high temperature Moiré method for measurement of transient welding strains was developed by the authors.Descriptions of procedures such as preparation of heat-resistant reflective grid on matalli cspecimen,recording of transient strain information and data-processing of Moiré fringe patterns are given in this paper.The transient strain cycles during GTA spot welding on thin plate were measured.Experimental results are compared with numerical analysis and discussed.
