Abstract:
The blind hole and indentation method were employed to measure the residual stress of 2195-F aluminum lithium alloy on TIG and FSW welding, respectively, respectively. The results indicate that the measured values of blind hole method was little higher than that of the indentation method. In two welding methods, the longitudinal stress near weld zone is always higher than the transverse stress. The whole transverse stress is compressive stress or tensile stress less than 50 MPa; and the longitudinal stress near heat affected zone is bigger than tensile stress in weld. Near weld zone, the longitudinal residual stress of TIG welding is higher than that of FSW, and the longitudinal residual stress is tensile stress. There is little difference between manual TIG welding and FSW residual stress outside the weld, and transverse residual stress is small tensile or compressive stress.
